Bieber talks U2 and his Irish fans

Bieber, who was greeted by hundreds of screaming fans wherever he went in Dublin ahead of his O2 performance last night, spent a couple of days in Ireland.
Speaking to the RTÉ Guide, when asked if he is interested in working with any Irish musicians, Bieber responded with: “U2, I like U2…I’m a big U2 fan. I love Bono.”
Bieber, who has met the 50-year-old U2 frontman, added that it would be his dream to work with him.
The 17-year-old seemed relaxed about the chaotic reaction to his arrival in the country, when hundreds of excited Bieber fans flooded the city centre to catch a glimpse of the star.
He said: “All my fans are amazing. Every city I go to it always amazes me to see how crazy they are. It’s awesome.
“I want to say thank you to all of my Irish fans for all of the support and love. You are awesome.
“It’s really nice here, it’s my first time. I love it, it’s been amazing. It’s great to see new fans and be a part of it.”
Despite being a multi-millionaire, he describes himself as “a regular guy”.
He added: “I don’t spend a lot of money. I travel a lot and I buy some clothes every once in a while but I don’t go crazy.”
Speaking about his mother, Pattie Mallette, he said: “She’s my mom, it doesn’t change once you get famous.
“When I’m being disrespectful or something like that, she definitely puts me in line. I’m just Justin to her.”
While here he spent three hours with his private tutor in his hotel room in Wicklow’s The Ritz Carlton and when asked what he thinks of school, he said: “I hate school but I think it’s important that I do it.”
When asked if he craved normality, he said: “No, not really. Everything happens for a reason. There are good things and bad things about both.”
He said that he doesn’t get nervous ahead of gigs: “It’s like walking to me. I do it so much, it’s instilled in me.”
